In recent months, Coolant prices rose rapidly when oil prices were high, and have not adjusted down when the oil prices fell. Now OPEC has cut production to raise the prices again. Any brand you use has been affected. You really can't control the cost of the coolants, but you can reduce some of the other costs associated with maintaining coolants. When your coolant is starting to get tired, instead of hauling it away for expensive disposal, you can separate out the usable product from the waste.
Example:
In a 100 gallon coolant tank, only 5–10% of the used coolant is waste. If you dispose of your entire coolant, you could be spending roughly $150 to dispose of it and $100 for 6 gallons of new coolant. By recycling, you would pay $150 to recycle, and only have to add one gallon of new coolant, at $15.00.

Multiply $540 for every 100 gallons of coolant tanks in your shop, and you can see the annual savings.
Master Chemical is well–known for their Trim line of coolants, especially their Trim–Sol® Soluable Oil. This Ohio–based company is at the cutting– edge of coolant technology, and they have a full offering of products for the metalworking market. Although they are not the cheapest coolants on the market, they could be the most cost– effective. Every product in their line is recyclable, to make your coolants last longer than many competitive products. Aside from longer sump life, they appear in most instances to add life to cutting tools and abrasives. I have been amazed by some of the test results I have seen.
We will also recommend the Master Chemical coolant that will work best in your shop's environment. We'll help you find the coolant that's right for your shop. After all, there's nothing worse than the stench of coolant that sat over the weekend, growing bacteria. |
